Dr. Chona is the most professional dentist I have ever seen in my community, she is gentle and caring. My experience in her clinic has been so pleasant, my entire family members are patients of We care dental!
Everyone in Dr. Chona Lardizabal's We Care Dental office was extremely professional, incredibly compassionate, and kind and they helped make my elderly mom want to smile again! I am so glad we found her and I highly recommend her.
I have been taking my boys to Dr. Chona since they were 3. She is great with them and always treats us like family. Her and Rod have always shown us much kindness and respect. Take great care of all of our dental needs.
I have been a patient of Dr. Chona and Rod for several years, and throughout this time, they have consistently provided exceptional care. Their commitment to patient well-being and attention to detail is truly appreciated. I value their efficient scheduling, which accommodates my work, making it easier to maintain my dental care routine.
Me and my kids love it here! Dr. Chona and her husband are very friendly and nice! And the the man who got us an X-ray, forgot his name, but he is nice and friendly as well. So glad we found this “We Care Dental Clinic” in San Ramon!♥️ Its a very clean environment and I would definitely recommend this place!🤩
Dr. Chona is very friendly and caring to her patient. My two kids feel very comfortable with her during the each visits. Last time my daughter had the accident trauma, the office was able to give me an appointment even though they were fully booked at that time.
My 9 year old chipped her tooth at school. I could have made an emergency appt that day, but chose to wait until the next day. Her front tooth looks great! Can't tell that anything happened!
This is the fourth year that we are seeing Dr. Chona as a family and we have never experienced any aggressiveness on her part when suggesting treatments. She offers different options. We highly recommend her and we will continue to see her.
Dr. Chona and staff of wonderful, always welcoming and caring. We been coming here for a couple of years. She always makes my kids feel safe and cared for.
I took both my children in for a cleaning and both the Dr and her staff were kind and professional. They helped us right away and answered any questions I had. They also played cartoons for my children to make their visit that much more comfortable. Thank you so much for great service.

Thin plastic coatings applied to chewing surfaces of molars to prevent decay by sealing grooves where bacteria accumulate. They act as a barrier against cavities
2. Who should get sealants?
Children: Recommended at ages 6 (first molars) and 12 (second molars).
Adults: Effective for cavity-prone teeth or deep grooves
3. Is the application painful?
No anesthesia needed. The process involves cleaning, etching with a gel, applying sealant, and curing with a blue light—all painless.
4. How long do sealants last?
5–10 years with proper care, but durability varies. Regular checkups ensure timely reapplication.
5. Are sealants covered by insurance?
Many plans cover sealants for children under 18. Adults should verify coverage with their provider.
6. Do sealants contain BPA?
Trace amounts exist but are lower than everyday exposures (e.g., receipts, dust). BPA-free options are available.
7. Can sealants be placed over cavities?
Only over early-stage decay to halt progression. Existing cavities require fillings first.
8. What’s the cost per tooth?
$35–$95, depending on location and insurance. Far cheaper than fillings or extractions.
9. Are there side effects?
Rare allergic reactions. No long-term risks documented.
10. How do sealants compare to brushing?
They complement brushing/flossing by protecting hard-to-clean grooves, reducing cavity risk by 80% in molars.
